Mario, You’re Not Alone, a novel by Ricardo Caballero Jiménez, was born out of a deep concern I have experienced both as a father and as an educator. Throughout my professional and personal life, I have seen far too often how school bullying leaves invisible scars that can stay with children and teenagers for years. I felt the need to do more than simply observe or feel powerless, so I decided to write a story that could move readers, raise awareness, and serve as a source of support.
This novel is, in part, a call for empathy and action. Through Mario and the people around him, I wanted to show how our decisions —both the choices we make and the ones we avoid making— can change everything. That is why the story includes three alternative endings: because every choice matters, and we all have a role to play in the fight against bullying.
I wrote this book for young people who are suffering, for those who watch in silence, and for adults who want to better understand how they can help. My goal was simple, but important: to make sure that no one feels alone, so that every reader can find in these pages a voice that offers companionship, a reflection that inspires, and a sense of hope that remains.
Synopsis
